Issue/Introduction

A set of vSAN configurations which are not currently supported on SDDC Manager workflows and customers should avoid to import them to VCF.

SDDC Manager Day N operations will not be supported on imported vSAN clusters with the following configurations:

  • "Compression only" clusters (deduplication turned off)
  • Data-In-Transit Encryption enabled
  • vSAN Automatic disk claim is turned off for ESA clusters
  • vSAN File Services enabled
  • iSCSI target enabled
  • Fault domains configured
  • vSAN RDMA enabled
  • Per-NIC default gateway
  • Shared vSAN storage policy

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2

Cause

Such vSAN configurations have not be fully qualified on VCF workflows and can potentially cause instability

Resolution

Avoid importing vSAN clusters with the said configurations.
