Cannot find the latest vendor custom installer image for ESXi in the download portal

Issue/Introduction

• A new ESXi version was just released, but there is no vendor-specific custom image available in the download portal
• Custom images from the specific vendor are available for other or older ESXi versions

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.x

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

Cause

Broadcom offers customized ESXi installer images for multiple server vendors, such as:

• Cisco
• Dell
• Fujitsu
• Hewlett-Packard (HPE)
• Hitachi
• NEC

among others.

However, these images are being compiled by the specific by the specific vendor, and for offering the image in the download portal, Broadcom relies on the vendor to provide it.

Resolution

When a new ESXi version is released, please verify in https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleNumber=316595 that there was indeed an installer image released for this version. 
If you cannot find the custom image in the download portal despite this being the case, please reach out to the server vendor to inquire for when it will be made available.
