Users may not be able to upgrade the edge or generate the diagnostic bundle due to insufficient storage on the Velocloud edge.
All SDWAN software versions
In lower-end models (510/N/LTE, 520, 610/N/C/LTE), insufficient storage in the /velocloud directory can prevent users from generating a diagnostic bundle and may cause software upgrades to fail. The /velocloud directory may be filled with old core files, software images, or other unnecessary files.
When an edge upgrade fails due to disk space, users may see the error message in the VCO events tab for the affected edge as shown below: "Insufficient free space to download the new image."

Please raise a support ticket with Broadcom Support to remove the unnecessary files from the /velocloud directory using Edge CLI.

We previously encountered a similar issue (#94204) in software version 4.3.1, where Edge diagnostic bundles failed to complete due to the Edge running out of disk space. This occurred when the Edge generated one or more cores, which were sent to the /vnf/tmp folder. The unpacked size of these cores quickly filled the folder, causing the diagnostic bundle to fail. This issue has been resolved starting with software version 4.5.1.
