Issue/Introduction

Chrome browser (pre version 126) if displaying IM 14.5 Password Services page  /iam/im/<environment>/ui7/index.jsp?task.tag=PasswordServices&SMAUTHREASON=01  may show page with no information like UserID filled, while also preventing user from typing anything in the fields.

Password Services is a task used for self password change for example when admin checked  "Password Must Change" for a user.

Server.log may show error as such:

  • ERROR [ims.tmt.ScreenHandlerBase] (default task-1) Unable to read attribute: %USER_ID% java.lang.NullPointerException
  • ERROR [ims.tmt.ScreenHandlerBase] (default task-1) Unable to read attribute: %PASSWORD% java.lang.NullPointerException
  • ERROR [ims.tmt.ScreenHandlerBase] (default task-1) Unable to read attribute: |passwordConfirm| java.lang.NullPointerException

 

Cause

Old Chrome version.

Resolution

Solution was to upgrade Chrome version to 126 or above or use Edge browser.
