Issue/Introduction

AWS RDS instances size for hosting the MySQL DB for the container based gateways.

Currently running a memory optimized instance class db.r5.large for our container gateways across all environments, with only a very small fraction of compute being utilized.  Considering using a burstable class something like db.t4g.large.  What Broadcom recommendation

Resolution

Recommend in lower environment setting up the new RDS in lower scale and test.

Review your database RDS CPU and RAM utilization in the environment, do incremental adjustments and verify if those changes don't cause noticeable performance degradation in production. Repeat until they get their desirable balance between resource utilization and acceptable GW cluster performance.
