Start Request Form Not Loading in Service Catalog-17.4 RU2

Issue/Introduction

In Service Catalog when trying to load a Start Request Form as an Action the service freezes and we see the following error in view.log

2024/06/24 17.20.34.998 ERROR [http-nio-8081-exec-18] [ITPAMWebserviceManager] Error occurred in getProcessDefInputParamList: null
java.lang.NullPointerException: null
2024/06/24 17.20.35.004 ERROR [http-nio-8081-exec-18] [DefaultContentEngine] Exception occured invoking method on plugin:getITPAMProcessDefInputParamList
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: null
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
2024/06/24 17.20.35.005 ERROR [http-nio-8081-exec-18] [DefaultContentEngine] Exception occured processing request for plugin: com.ca.usm.workflow.ContentEngine.CWorkflowClient null

Steps Taken:

  1. Go to Administration > Events-Rules-Actions > Request/Subscription Item Create
  2. Select an existing Rule or create a new Rule
  3. Click the Add button and this will bring you to the Add Action screen
  4. In the Action Information Section select:
    • Type: Process Automation
    • Click the Magnifying glass next to the Start Request Form field
    • Click an SRF (or the location of the offering you imported into ITPAM earlier:
  5. Start Request Form Field is populated but the popup window does not disappear
  6. Cursor is stuck as a circle as if thinking

Service Catalog 17.4 RU2

Resolution

This issue has been identified and resolved.

A fix is available for RU2 and this issue should be resolved in 17.4 RU3.
