Issue/Introduction

Permissions and roles needed for adding VCenter IPFIX in Aria Operations for Networks

Environment

Aria Operations 6.12.1

VCenter 7.0.3

Resolution

To configure and use IPFIX, you must have the following VCenter server Privileges

NOTE: Predefined role for Aria Operations for Networks must have the Global.Settings privilege assigned at root level as well as propagate to children roles.

Edit your Aria Operations for Networks role to reflect the settings below.

  1. Distributed Switch:
    1. IPFIX Creation
    2. Modify
    3. Port Configuration Operation

  2. dvPort group:
    1. IPFIX Creation
    2. Modify
    3. Port Configuration Operation

  3. Global
    1. Settings

Once complete, check the Enable IPFIX for your VCenter Data source and check the VDS you would like to see.

Submit the new changes and allow some time to pass for all the new data to begin to flow.
