Error when uninstalling NSX security-only

Issue/Introduction

Uninstalling NSX Security Only fails on each cluster with:

 "The resource TransportNode with ID xxx-xxxx-xxx used by compute collection xxx-xxx-xxx:domain-xxx is a member of a security group. Please update the group membership to remove the resource and try uninstalling again."

Environment

NSX 4.0.x and 4.1.x

Cause

The "NSX Intelligence Data Collection"  is the nsgroup that is triggering the error, the TN is a part of the NSX Data Collection group, which means that data-collection is activated on this TN.

This is a known issue related to Security Only, a future release will allow the uninstall to continue without needing to disable NSX Intelligence Data Collection on the cluster.

Resolution

Disable data collection on cluster which contains this TN. The steps are the following:

- Navigate to the NSX Intelligence Setting page on the UI and deactivate the cluster of interest here.

- Once de-activated, the TN should automatically get removed from the group and uninstalling NSX security can be continued.
