Issue/Introduction

The following items are missing under Dashboards in the OC in our production environment. They do show in our test environment.

  • Dashboard Viewer
  • Observability Designer
  • Observability Viewer

Environment

  • DX UIM 23.4 CU1

Cause

  • Unknown but possibly due to some migration tasks
  • No related errors in the installation logs

Resolution

A comparison of the Operator Console ACLs in Prod and Test environments' revealed that the required ACLs were missing, e.g., Dashboard Viewer, Observability Designer, and Observability Viewer.

Therefore we accessed the distsrv on the Primary hub and followed the steps to reset the ACLs in Prod:

1. Select the distsrv probe on he Primary hub
2. Press Ctrl-P to open the probe utility
3. Ran the callback->set_acl_init
    file_name-> base_acls.cfg
4. Log out of OC
5. Login to OC and recheck the menu items

The expected menu items were then visible and accessible so the issue was resolved.
