Missing Image Prepare System folder

Issue/Introduction

In DSM Explorer, the folder "Image Prepare System" under Software/Boot and OS Image Library is missing :

Cause

Cause 1 :

This problem could occur if the following registry key is missing or set to 0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ComputerAssociates\DSM Framework\Skin Profiles\DSM\<LANG>\Plugins\ITRMOSIPS

In below example, ITRMOSIPS is missing for EN language :

 

Cause 2 :

This problem could occur if the following registry key is missing

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ComputerAssociates\Unicenter ITRM\IPS\InstallPath

 

Cause 3 : 

 

This problem could occur if DSM Explorer is executed on a Domain Manager with user which does not belong to the local Administrators group.

 

Example :

User AD1\User1 has full permissions on all Client Automation Object classes. But it does not belong to local Administrators group on Domain Manager.

If DSM Explorer is started using AD1\User1, DSM Explorer could be opened, but folder "Image Prepare System" is missing

Resolution

Solution for Cause 1 :

1. Download attached file ITRMOSIPS.txt and rename it as ITRMOSIPS.reg
   
   
2. Double click on it to import the registry key
   
   
3. Open a new DSM Explorer and check that folder "Image Prepare System" appears

 

Solution for Cause 2 :

Create the InstallPath REG_SZ key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ComputerAssociates\Unicenter ITRM\IPS\InstallPath with osimps path (ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\osimips)

 

Solution for Cause 3 :
On Domain Manager, open DSM Explorer using a user which belongs to local Administrators group. If this user has no permissions to Client Automation, you could enter another user in the Client Automation Log-in dialog box.
