HCX log shows "The provided key is invalid" error

Issue/Introduction

• In the HCX Cloud admin UI (port 9443) under Configuration -> Licensing and Activation, the license is displayed as valid with an Active status.
• On the HCX logs, you see the following message "The provided key is invalid" :

Environment

HCX 4.9 or later.
Activation keys generated for VMware Cloud on AWS, hyperscalers, and cloud provider environments entitled to HCX.

Cause

There have been significant changes to HCX licensing starting from version 4.9 .
The new VCF local license check does not recognize the hyperscalers activation key, resulting in errors.

Resolution

These errors can be safely ignored, as they do not impact HCX licensing or its services.
