Issue/Introduction

  • When you reverse cloud to cloud (C2C) replications in VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCDA), the task fails and you see an error similar to:

Unexpected VMware Cloud Director error. [ UI-bdb9e9c5-0f30-45c60b88a-65a4d1599c73-r14963-cA-RB4-xM-62708f51-3752-4c8d-86df-db7a29dfeb30 ] Row was updated or deleted by another transaction (or unsaved-value mapping was incorrect): [com.vmware.vcloud.common.model.VAppModel#xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx]

  • This issue occurs when you are using the Replication Tracking Virtual Machine (RT VM) placement solution introduced in Cloud Director Availability 4.7.

Environment

  • VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.x
  • VMware Cloud Director 10.5.x

Cause

This issue can occur when concurrent convert to RT VM operations are performed on multiple VMs within the same vApp when reversing a replication.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Director 10.5.x.

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:

To work around this issue, manually attempt to reverse the impacted replication again.
