OC Group not updating its members in DX UIM 23.4.1

Issue/Introduction

I am running DX UIM 23.4CU1 (23.4.1). One of my Dynamic groups with MCS profiles has a defined Criteria that matches a certain number of devices when looking at the result of the "find devices".

However, the number of members populating the group is not showing correctly (shows less devices). In fact, the missing robots in the group are not receiving the MCS profiles they should have received automatically. 

 

Environment

DX UIM 23.4CU1

Cause

DEFECT - In UIM 23.4 CU1 there is an issue related to the cache, due to this sometimes the device count was not displaying correctly.

Resolution

The issue is known and it is resolved in DX UIM 23.4.CU2 that is expected to be released in July 2024. 

If the group members is not updated correctly the following workaround can be applied: 

 

 

WORKAROUND: 

1. If the group has MCS profiles deployed to it, stop the mon_config_service probe to avoid the below changes to push or remove any profiles. (stopping the probe will pause MCS operations) 

2. Edit the group by adding or removing any of the criteria so that the total number updates to something different. 

3. Save the changes

4. Revert the changes to the original criteria, and now, the group members count should match the total number of devices found in the Criteria selection "Find Devices". 

5. Save the changes.
