Issue/Introduction

You would like to know how to implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

Resolution

Symantec DLP supports the following authentication methods:

  1. User Authentication Methods: Detailed information on supported authentication methods can be found in the following article: About authenticating users

  2. SAML Authentication Configuration: To set up SAML authentication, refer to the following guide: Set up the SAML authentication configuration

These are the currently supported methods for authenticating with Symantec DLP. By using SAML authentication, you can route the authentication process through your Identity Provider (IdP). Most IdPs support two-factor authentication (2FA), allowing you to implement MFA for DLP access.
