Ghost error: "651 Failed to restore the image as the next span of the image was not found."

Issue/Introduction

When deploying an image Ghost throws an error:

Error Number: 651

Message: Failed to restore the image as the next span of the image was not found. If you are using a location on an HTTP server, verify that the MIME-type settings for the extensions of the image span files have been manually added to the HTTP server.

Cause

Importing the image using Resource Import Tool corrupted the image

Resolution

Recompiled into one Ghost image file using Ghost Explorer:

1. Run Ghostexp64.exe from the Notification Server (NS) located in directory: <install drv:>\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\Imaging\Ghost\x64
2. Locate the image files, if on NS the images are in : <install drv>:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\bin\Deployment\Packages\Images\<GUID>  or if on Site Servers: <install drv>:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Package Delivery\{GUID}\cache
3. Once the image is loaded into Ghost Explore go to File > Compile
4. Do not toggle 'Span Image' as this will create a single file image, and then give it a name of your choice and click 'Save' ( best to give it a different name from the original )
5. Then reimport using the Resource Import Tool as documented in KB article Re-import Image files after migrating to a new SMP Server
