Issue/Introduction

When the DC goes down, there is no alarm or notification generated to alert administrators to take action. How can a notification be generated for this?

Environment

DX NetOps CAPM all currently supported releases

Resolution

There are some events for DC status changes. They are generated on the Data Aggregator item:

The DC sends a heartbeat every 10 seconds. If the DA hasn't received the heartbeat for more than 60 seconds, then it will mark the DC as down and generate the DC contact lost event.

Sometimes the DC might not really go down. But if the network connection between the DA and DC is broken for more than 60 seconds, the DA will generate the contact lost event.

If DA is down, however, we're not going to see anything about DA or DC in Portal. But as long as DA is up, you can see contact lost/established events.

Also, system status should show DC as not connected and Red/Orange system status icon.
