Custom resource type is not working after deleting the relate VMware Aria Orchestrator workflow.

Issue/Introduction

This article provides a workaround to replace the deleted workflow.

 

Similar entries are visible when trying to update the custom resource type:

400 BAD_REQUEST "Cannot retrieve form definition for runnable item RunnableItem [...] Error message: 404 NOT_FOUND "Cannot find workflow with id xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Environment

VMware Aria Orchestrator 8.x

Cause

VMware Aria Orchestrator workflow was deleted or replaced with the new one that updated its ID.

Resolution

To resolve this issue perform the steps:

1. Recreate the workflow and export it or export it from a different environment.
2. Edit the workflow and replace the ID with the one reported in the error message.
3. Import the amended workflow back to VMware Aria Orchestrator.
