Generating x-hm authentication token for use with HCX APIs

Issue/Introduction

This article is to help outline the process necessary to generate the x-hm authentication token in order to enable the use of HCX APIs

Environment

HCX

Resolution

Access the following URL: https://<hcx-FQDN>/hybridity/docs/index.html

• Select: "HCX Connector"

• Navigate to Platform (APIs to provide authentication, session and job information).

• Choose POST > /hybridity/api/sessions
• Click "Try it out" 

• Provide the username and password for this user (vCenter credentials) and then "Execute."

• Under the Response Headers, you will get the x-hm-authorization and x-transaction-id
• Gather the x-hm-authorization as shown below.

• While executing any changes via APIs call, you can now do it by click on the appropriate API tasks --> Authorize option and then enter the x-hm-authorization key

• Enter the x-hm-authorization key
