Issue/Introduction

In Quick Edit, when Environment=blank, system=specified, subsystem=specified, element=xxx*, Build Using Map=Y, Return First Found=N, the result is a single element displayed in the first Environment even though there are many other elements up the map.

The behavior is as if ENV=specified and BUILD USING MAP=N.

Is this expected behavior?

Resolution

The behavior is expected.

When an element selection list is generated with the environment not specified, the (E)dit and (G)enerate with Copyback functions will cause the element to be fetched to the entry stage of the environment where the selected element existed when the list was generated.

The Build Using Map and Return First Found options are ignored when generating the element selection list.

NOTE: When option ELMNM_PROMPT=ON is enabled, the above messaging appears in an Informational Dialog box to alert the user.
