App Launchpad Plugin not loading in Cloud Director UI

Issue/Introduction

• Unable to open App Launchpad (ALP) Plugin in the Cloud Director (VCD) UI by clicking More > App Launchpad
• A spinning icon appears continuously and a blank page is shown in the UI
• Browser Developer console shows a 504 Gateway Timeout
• From App Launchpad server unable to launch the command, /opt/vmware/alp/bin/diagnose, and giving permission denied and a warning that the 'system reboot is required'

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1.1

VMware App Launchpad 2.1.2.2

Cause

App Launchpad server may require a system reboot following updates from several components.

Resolution

To resolve the issue the App Launchpad Server will require to be rebooted to apply the components updates.
