License key "Validation Failed" error generated during Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.1 upgrade before precheck

Issue/Introduction

• Aria Operations for Networks online upgrade option is toggled to enabled
• After the upgrade bundle is uploaded and the upgrade is started, a prompt to enter a license key is generated.
• Any license key entered results in the message "Invalid license key. Please try a different key." being displayed
• An error stating "Validation Failed" is presented.

Aria Operations for Networks 6.11.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.0

Cause

Aria Operations for Networks online upgrade tagged (lower) version pre-req to overwrite the pre-req of offline upload bundle (higher) version.
In cases when there is substantial difference in dlf files for example, this results in a misleading License check added to the Upgrade confirmation even if the license is valid for  that higher/current version.
User gets confused about their licenses and it blocks them from upgrading.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.13.0
