Issue/Introduction

  • After migrating Chargeback plugin to Aria Operations (with no Load Balancer), you see the below certificate error code when launching the plugin through Cloud Director

         Error Code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

  • If Aria Operations is having Private IP, can see below error while launching Aria operation the plugin through vCloud Director.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.16.x

Cause

This happens because by default the Cloud Director tries to connect to Aria Operations using the IP.

If the certificate on Aria Operations uses FQDN, Cloud Director doesn't trust the connection leading to the certificate error.

Resolution

To resolve this, please follow the below steps:

  1. Login to Aria Operations.
  2. Go to Administration -> Global Settings -> System Settings
  3. Set the value for System Access URL as the master nodes FQDN.

Refresh the page on Cloud Director to access the plugin without the certificate warning.
