How to identify whether WAN links are connected to Active or Standby edge in enhanced HA topology

Issue/Introduction

This article describes how to verify from VCO which edge each WAN link is connected to, whether active or standby.

Environment

VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud

Edges are deployed in enhanced HA (eHA) topology.

Resolution

Navigate through the following sequence: "Diagnostics > Remote Diagnostics > (Edge Name)", then run "HA Info" diagnostic. The result will be displayed as shown in the image below.

If a WAN link is physically connected to the edge, it will display either "LOCAL_UP" or "USED_BY_PEER". In below example GE5 is connected to both Active and Standby edge, GE2 is to Standby edge only, and GE3 is to Active edge only.
