PAM Server Installation Issue

Issue/Introduction

We are trying to install PAM in 2 nodes and successfully installed in Node1 but getting the below error while installing in Node2 when configuring runtime DB.

"The Runtime Database is being used by another orchestrator"

Environment

IT Process Automation 4.x

Cause

The error message you are getting seems to indicate that you either are

• Installing the second Orchestrator as a fresh installation from the dvd image, or
• From the new node, you logged into the primary Orchestrator node, went to the Configuration tab and "Installation" button and selected "Install Orchestrator" instead of "Install Cluster Node for Domain Orchestrator".

Resolution

For a separate stand-alone Orchestrator it cannot share the runtime database with another Orchestrator. But, if you install them as a cluster you should not encounter that problem. However you have to configure the primary Domain Orchestrator to use a Load Balancer first.
