Aria Automation upgrade fails with LCMVRAVACONFIG90029

Environment

vRA 8.13.1

Cause

In the updatecli.log located on the vRA appliance (/opt/vmware/var/log/vami) you see errors about failed dependencies.

error: Failed dependencies:

libsasl2.so.3(SASL2)(64bit) is needed by (installed) subversion-1.10.8-3.ph3.x86_64

libcrypto.so.1.0.0()(64bit) is needed by (installed) apr-util-1.6.1-3.ph3.x86_64

libcrypto.so.1.0.0()(64bit) is needed by (installed) serf-1.3.9-1.ph3.x86_64

libcrypto.so.1.0.0()(64bit) is needed by (installed) git-2.23.3-3.ph3.x86_64

libssl.so.1.0.0()(64bit) is needed by (installed) apr-util-1.6.1-3.ph3.x86_64

libssl.so.1.0.0()(64bit) is needed by (installed) serf-1.3.9-1.ph3.x86_64

libssl.so.1.0.0()(64bit) is needed by (installed) git-2.23.3-3.ph3.x86_64

Resolution

Remove packages from all appliances. 

1. SSH into the appliance(s).
2. Run Commands:

   1. rpm -e apr-util-1.6.1-3.ph3.x86_64

   2.  

      rpm -e serf-1.3.9-1.ph3.x86_64

   3.  

      rpm -e subversion-1.10.8-3.ph3.x86_64

   4.  

      rpm -e git-2.23.3-3.ph3.x86_64
