Edge fails to upgrade post activation with error "Invalid software update"

Issue/Introduction

Sometimes, Customer activate new device. Edge communicate with VCO, Partially activate and software upgrade fail with error message "Invalid software update"

Environment

VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud

Cause

Customer try to activate latest Edge model against VCO, Edge is Partially activated on the VCO and fail to upgrade software with the error ""Invalid software update" on the VCO event page.

VCO event message logs confirm error "Invalid software update on edge VC07102337000419 applied: No update for EDGE7X0 matched 4.3.1 build R431-20220518-GA-1d76590eec, will retry" 

Here the issue is. The specific software version 4.3.1 assigned to the Edge device is not available for the 710 Edge Model. 

710 Edge model support software version staring 5.2. Older version is not available for this specific model.

Resolution

Assign the new software version(5.2) to the Edge device and power cycle, Edge will upgrade to new software version
