Shortening connection timeout on initial RDP connection from PAM

Issue/Introduction

Connecting through PAM to a Windows endpoint which is not available results in a big delay (sometimes even minutes) before a failure popup is displayed indicating that the connection has failed.

Resolution

PAM does not have any means of configuring a timeout version for connection attempts. There is no external setting which may be set and it is the tcp connection timeout that is used in order to determine when an initial connection fails. Besides this, another factor that may contribute to long waits is the fact that when the final destination appears as non-reachable, several retransmissions are attempted before giving up.
