Issue/Introduction

Security team may ask to blacklist / block the access to the OC URL from a secondary hub. Does this have any consequence on the communication flow? Does it have in impact on DX UIM discovery?

Environment

DX UIM 20.4.* / 23.4.*

Cause

Guidance

Resolution

Preventing the ability to reach the OC Wasp webapps (OC, admin console) URL Address from a tunnelled (or not tunnelled) hub does not affect anything else than the ability to open OC from that particular machine where you are adding the blocking.

As you are blocking the the reachability of the URL from an external machine you are not interfering with any internal communication within DX UIM.

The discovery and hub to robot and hub to hub communication and the OC itself and everything else will still work flawlessly
