Issue/Introduction
Edge was deleted successfully in NSX Manager UI
2 alarms generated for the deleted node
Edge VM Present in NSX inventory Not Present in vCenter
Stale Edge Node Entry Found
Transport node API returns no results for the given Edge
GET /api/v1/transport-nodes/<tn-id>
clean_stale_entries API returns 200 OK but no change in alarms
POST /api/v1/transport-nodes?action=clean_stale_entries
Environment
VMware NSX-T 3.x, VMware NSX 4.x
Cause
This is a known issue caused by race conditions in Edge VM's undeployed/deletion workflow.
Resolution
This issue is fixed in 4.2.0 and higher. There is no functional impact.
Workaround:
Restart proton service on 3 NSX Managers one by one, confirm cluster status stable before proceeding next NSX Manager nsxmanager# service proton restart nsxmanager> get cluster status --> Confirm all status returns stable before proceeding next NSX Manager
Refresh UI to confirm the alarm has been mark as resolved automatically.
