How to debug Servicer Level Manager in Spectrum

Issue/Introduction

We are having problems with Service Level Manager (SLM) in DX NetOps Spectrum. How can we debug Spectrum to find out more information?

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Spectrum releases

Resolution

To enable debug for SLM follow these steps:

1. Add these two lines to the $SPECROOT/SS/.vnmrc file.
   • slm_debug=30
   • slm_debug_enable=true
2. Save the changes and restart the SpectroSERVER where the change to have the new entries read.
   • Logging will write to the $SPECROOT/SS/VNM.OUT file.
3. When logging is gathered through a reproduction of the problem, set aside the latest VNM.OUT files to share with support.
4. Remove the new entries from the .vnmrc file, save the changes and restart the SpectroSERVER to halt the logging.
