Transitioning an NSX brownfield deployment from a Limited Export (LE) OVA to a full or non-LE OVA results in Repo-Sync failures

Issue/Introduction

NSX managers are deployed using OVAs with LE in their file name (limited export) and full version NSX is now desired

Configure NSX results in repo sync failures and Failed to install software on host. Failed to download NSX components on host. Check the host connectivity and if "/tmp" folder has enough space

Cause

There is no supported migration path from a Limited Export (LE) OVA to full version/Non-LE OVA

 

 

 

Resolution

Production environments will need to be instantiated as a greenfield deployment from a full version/Non-LE NSX manager OVA
