Issue/Introduction

Maintenance was requested for a couple of devices,.  The device was included in the maintenance policy that was to begin March 6, 2024 @ 4:15 PM.

Maintenance included the check mark in the 'Mute existing alarms on entiies'

Entries were in the DX Inventory

Device alarmed at 4:16 PM and 4:22 PM

Looking at the Maintenance policy again this morning, I noticed the checkmark for 'Mute existing alarms on entities' was now unchecked...

Maintenance policies still seem to work for the most part, but in a few instances they are not reliable.  Please investigate further for a more consistency.

Resolution

1) Edited the existing maintenance schedules and used the Based on Filter option.

2) OI 24.5.1 Implemented in SAAS with maintenance window fix

Additional Information

Questions asked before case closure:

Q1. Can both a 'Service' and 'Entities' been chosen in the same policy? We have chosen both on this particular policy, but wasn't sure if only one should be used.

Q2. Do we need to choose the 'based on filter' option when creating policies?
Can two Service and Entities be used in the same maintenance policy?
Should the 'Based on Filter' option be used when created maintenance policies?

A1. Yes , We can select both services and entities in a single MW policy.

A2. We can select any members from above 4 tabs ( Services, agents ,Groups and Entities) in a single MW policy.
And, same with based on filter. You can use based on filter if you want to create a dynamic way of Maintenance policy creation ( example : select filter on service name , starts with Barcelona and select based on filter option. Then all the filtered services will be part of the MW.( same for other tabs as well )
Based on filter option will be enabled after applying any filter on data
