While upgrading from one SP to later SP hangs. After killing that hung process, attempt to re-run the 'dxsetup.sh' script reports that the host is already on later SP version.
i.e. While attempting to reinstall (after a killing the hung state), one the screesn it shows:
A newer/identical version of Symantec Directory has been detected.
Existing Version: 14.1.05.18619
Install Version: 14.1.05 build 18619
While at the same time, all DSAs on the host starts up successfully and running 'dxserver version' does show the correct (new) SP version.
The problem is related to the fact that somehow the install process was not able to successfully generate the MasterKey File.
Reviewing the install log, you will see something similar to following:
===================== DXSERVER INSTALLATION (CONTINUED) ======================
Setting up environment for account XXXXXX...
The DXserver setup failed.
Do you want to continue? (y/n) [n] ERROR - Occurred creating Masterkey file. Please run dxcertgen manually to generate MasterKey File
In order to address this, simply run 'dxcertgen masterkey' command at the system prompt to generate the MasterKey File (i.e. the missing dxEnc.conf).
