Nodes that have been detached from the NSX Manager cluster cannot rejoin the cluster

Issue/Introduction

Manager nodes that have been detached from the NSX Manager cluster by the detach node command fail to be added back to the cluster with an error.

1.  Detach from the NSX Manager cluster by specifying the Manager node-uuid to be detached.
   detach node <node-uuid>
   
   
2.  Specify the manager node-uuid that was detached from the cluster in step 1 to join the cluster again.
   join <IP of cluster member Manager> cluster-id <Cluster-id> username <Manager-username> password <Manager-password> thumbprint <Thumbprint of cluster members Manager>
   
   
3. The following message is printed and the attempt to join the cluster fails.
   

   % An error occurred while joining the specified cluster. Reason: [CBM0] An unexpected error has occurred in CBM.

Resolution

There is no resolution, this is expected behavior.
The detached nodes must be deleted and cannot be reused.
You need to add new node and join it to cluster.
