Issue/Introduction

When opening DSM Explorer with a user which does not belong to Administrators group, following error occurs :

User does not have view permission on the object [CMM000249]

What are the minimum permissions for a regular user to be able to open a DSM Explorer ?

Environment

Client Automation - All Versions

Resolution

  1. Open DSM Explore with a user which have full permissions. Go in menu Security - Security Profiles

  2. Add a security profile for the regular user or for a group in which the regular user belong to.
  3. The minimum permission to give to be able to open the DSM Explorer are :

    Asset Group Read
    Computer Read
    Domain Read



  4. With this minimal rights, user could open the DSM Explorer and view the groups and computers, their inventories and deployed Jobs and packages.
