Endpoint Protection Manager replication fails at 10% with return code: -1073741515

Issue/Introduction

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) replication jobs are failing.

ReplicationLocal-0.log shows the following:

Environment

SEPM 14.3 RU8

Cause

1. Upgraded the ODBC driver from version 17 to version 18.

2. Due to wrong ODBC entry in the SEPM: Incorrect path for scm.db.client.bin in conf.properties file.

 

Resolution

ODBC driver version 18 is not supported.

Solution 1: Downgrade the ODBC driver back to version 17. Run the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Configuration Wizard. Manually start a replication job to restore replication fully.

Solution 2: Wrong path for scm.db.client.bin in the file Conf.properties, change the odbc path to new driver from 130 to 170 and Run the Management Configuration Wizard.

Additional Information

The ODBC vulnerability was resolved in version 17.10.5.1, recently version 17.10.6.1 was released, this build will also address the CVE-2023-29356 vulnerability and is supported by SEP/SEPM 14.3.x
