Issue/Introduction

Create a policy which capture keyword on documents' metadata.

The policy is not working on cloud DLP server.

Set the value of "ContentExtraction.EnableMetaData" to 'ON'  for Cloud Detector Detail - Advanced Settings.

This policy applied for all servers and detectors. Other policies are working on Cloud Email DLP but metadata policy is not.

Environment

DLP 16.0.1

Cause

Environment Issue

Resolution

This was a peculiar behavior on the environment but forcing the parameter change helped and the recycle of services (Monitor Controller service) resolved the issue.

1. Updated the ContentExtraction.EnableMetaData parameter value to force the parameter change

2. Update the value from ON to OFF then back to ON.

Note: Saving the values on each action performed above.

For more information on Advanced server settings please click the link for more details on ContentExtraction.EnableMetaData

3. Recycled the Monitor Controller service which would re-enable the connection with all the latest updates from the environment to Enforce.

4. Once the system is up with the connection we tested the behavior with a test word document.

5. As you have noted that the METADATA was detected on the word document.
