Issue/Introduction

  • Cannot repair the Replicator Service after changing an SSL certificate, or after changing the SSO credentials of the vCenter Server Lookup Service.
  • In vSphere DR and migration sites, after upgrading to version 4.6.1, the Replicator Service cannot be repaired.

Environment

VMware vCloud Director Availability 4.6.1

Resolution

To resolve this issue, update the admin.allow.from value in the application.properties file.

  1. Open an SSH session to the local appliances in the site and log in by using the root user credentials.
  2. On the vCenter Replication Management Appliance and all the Replicator Appliance instances, or the On-Premises to Cloud vCenter Replication Appliance, edit the application.properties files and set the value of admin.allow.from to "admin.allow.from=0.0.0.0/0".

For the changes to propagate, restart the services in the following order:

  1. Restart the Manager Service.
  2. Restart all Replicator Service instances, local or dedicated.
  3. Repair the local Replicator Service, or repair all dedicated Replicator Appliance instances, if using any.

Once the re-pair process is complete, revert the changes on the vCenter Replication Management Appliance or the On-Premises to Cloud vCenter Replication Appliance, by setting the admin.allow.from back to an empty value:

 admin.allow.from=
