Issue/Introduction

  • When trying to access the Cloud Director Availability Cloud component at https://Appliance-IP-Address/ui/admin, it fails with error - Site not reachable.
  • Other than the cloud component, all the other VCDA components - Manager, Tunnel and the Replicator are accessible using the default port numbers.
  • Error can be seen in the below mentioned screenshot:

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.x.x

Cause

The internal communication on port 8048 ( TCP connection) between the tunnel appliance and the Cloud Director availability management appliance was broken.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, restart the cloud service from the command line interface of the Cloud Director Availability.

  • Log in to the command line interface of VMware Cloud Director Availability management appliance.
  • Run the command: systemctl status cloud.service
  • Run the command to restart the service: systemctl restart cloud.service

Note: After restarting the service, wait a couple of minutes for the service to become operational and display its service management interface again.
