Issue/Introduction

The messages sent from RULES panel to the syslog are mixed case letters.

Is there a way to send them only in capital letters ?

SYSVIEW 16.0 & 17.0 - z/OS supported releases - 

Resolution

The following can be specified in the OPTIONS member of the CNM4BPRM library to upper case those messages to the syslog. 
 
MESSAGES-EXTERNAL-UPCASE                Yes
MESSAGES-INTERNAL-UPCASE                 Yes

Along with those two parameters in OPTIONS member there is also parm MESSAGE-UPPERCASE in SVWCOPTS that can be changed. 

The OPTIONS member update can be loaded from the LIBCACHE display by issuing line command REL next to the OPTIONS entry.

If you don't use LIBCACHE you would need to recycle each subtask or the entire address space.

Starting MVSDATA only with a COLD start will only reload the parmlib members starting with MVS.

If you change the OPTIONS member, you need to start SYSVIEW entirely COLD.
