Issue/Introduction

Setting up an alert for condition when some metrics stopped reporting data in a metric groupings.

We observed that some time ASM monitor stopped reporting data in the APM. We would like to get an alert setup so that we can get a notification when this occurs.

Resolution

Here are some information where you can get an alert when one or more metrics stops reporting data in a metric grouping.

In the APM metric view, you can monitor the following. Based on number of metrics that are being reported for the alert/metric grouping, this metric value will change.

SuperDomain|Custom Metric Host (Virtual)|Custom Metric Process (Virtual)|Custom Metric Agent (Virtual)|Enterprise Manager|Internal|Alerts|*SuperDomain*|<Management Module>|<ALERT_NAME>:Number of Evaluated Metrics

So, if one or more monitors metrics stop reporting data, you can raise an alert on the value of this metric.
