WSAGetLastError is received when trying to test the CA Business Intelligence (CABI) ODBC Connection

When testing the CA Business Intelligence (CABI) - CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) ODBC connection from within the CABI Universe Designer, receive the following error:

 
[DataDirect][ODBC OpenAccess SDK driver][OpenAccess SDK SQL Enginer]
connect() WSAGetLastError = 10061
Unable to connect: Socket open error on pdmweb.exe - 0
 

 

Environment

 

CA Service Desk Manager 14.x
CA Business Intelligence 4.1.x

 

Cause

 

This issue is usually related to some services/processes on the CA Service Desk Manager server being down or not running. Basically, CABI can not communicate properly with the CA Service Desk Manager server.
 

 

Resolution

 

Restart the CA Service Desk Manager services and the CA SDM ODBC services. Also, run a pdm_status and ensure that all processes are running. Then try testing the CABI-SDM ODBC connection again.
