Disconnected Aria Operations for Logs Agents remain in the Agent UI page

Issue/Introduction

Aria Operations for Logs Agents remain in the Agent UI page and does not disappear soon after disconnection.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.12
VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.14
VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.16

Including major and minor (hot patch) releases.

Cause

The issue occurs when the agents have been uninstalled but the agent is still visible in the UI.

Resolution

Cleanup of disconnected agents can be performed through the following steps:

• Navigate to the Aria Operations for Logs internal config https://<vRLI IP/FQDN>/internal/config
• Login as local user "admin"
• Enable "Show All Settings"
• Find the following parameter in the list and update with the necessary values:
  • <forget-agent-time-secs value="7890000" />
  • The value is in "seconds"
• Click on Save

Additional Information

By Default, Aria Operations for Logs keep disconnected agents in the list for 90 days.
