Issue/Introduction

UIM is integrated with DX OI SAAS using OI connector (apm_bridge and oi_connector). We are facing an issue on the UIM side where we delete an older IP of the device in the UIM side in the UIM database. After few days the older IP gets populated again in the UIM side in the UIM database. We want to know if DX OI SAAS is playing any part here which could cause this issue. We would like to know if the DX OI SAAS is communicating back to UIM any way or is it just one way communication from the OI connector on UIM side to DX OI SAAS.

Environment

UIM integration with DX OI SAAS using OI connector.

Resolution

There is no reverse sync of inventory, metrics and alarms from DX OI SAAS to UIM. In DX OI SAAS there is no integration gateway, hence NO reverse alarm updates from the DX OI SAAS to UIM.

Basically, the UIM OI connector sends data (alarms, metrics and inventory) to DX OI SAAS, but DX OI SAAS does not send any type of data back to UIM.

So, the issue with older IP getting added with devices on UIM side is due to some type of issue on the UIM side and needs to be investigated by UIM support team.
