How to externalize the NIM SM log file? (Normalized Integration Management for Service Management)

Issue/Introduction

When a new ca-nim-sm.war file is deployed the log configuration and the log files themselves are lost because the whole directory is replaced.
Is it possible to externalize both the log configuration and the log files?

Environment

NIM SM - Normalized Integration Management for Service Management

Resolution

You can change the log4j2.xml file to allocate the NIM log files outside of the NIM directory. However, the log4j2.xml file still needs to reside in the directory .../ca-nim-sm/WEB-INF/config and you would have to save it before applying maintenance to NIM and restore it afterwards.

Externalizing the NIM log configuration is considered an enhancement request. You can submit your request in the ideation section of the Broadcom community. The direct link to the ideation site is below:
