Resolution

The vCDA environment consists of the VM's only and here's a breakdown of the steps required to successfully power-off the vCDA appliances.

Note: Take backup or snapshots of all vCDA appliances before restarting.

Shut down Sequence:

  • Power-off Tunnel Appliance.
  • Power-off Replicator Appliance.
  • Power-off Cloud Director Replication Management Appliance.

Start up Sequence: Power on the components in reverse order.

  • Power on Cloud Director Replication Management Appliance.
  • Power on Replicator Appliance.
  • Power on Tunnel Appliance.

This procedure seems comprehensive, ensuring that each component is powered off and brought back online in the appropriate order to minimize disruptions and maintain the integrity of the vCDA infrastructure.

NOTE: Delete the snapshots, once all the VMware Cloud Director Availability appliances in the local cloud site and remote sites are powered on.

Additional Information

Important: Before making any changes verify:

  • Backups of all the appliances in the site are recent.
  • Current snapshots of all the appliances exist in the site.
