Salt Minion on Aria Automation and Aria Operations appliances causes upgrade from LCM to fail

Issue/Introduction

If a Salt Minion is installed on an Aria Automation and Aria Operations appliance upgrading the appliance from LCM can fail.

Environment

This happens in Aria Automation and Aria Operations appliances that have salt minions installed in them.

Cause

LCM does not know what to do with the Salt Minion and its dependencies

Resolution

Please first back up the minion config file in /etc/salt/minion so it can be restored later

Please run the following commands to remove the salt-minion

yum remove salt-minion

yum list | grep salt -> to determine if there are other salt packages that need to be removed.

find . * | grep salt -> to see if there are any other files on the system that need to be removed as well

Once this is done please try to upgrade again. If that does not work please run the following command and also generate a log bundle and upload it to the case.
