Issue/Introduction

In an Enhanced High Availability (HA) configuration, the WAN link connected to the standby Edge displays L2 setting speed as 0 mbps and duplex half on the VCO Remote diagnostic page

Environment

Impacted software version:  4.5.0, 4.5.1

Cause

When the VCO retrieves the interface status, it is expected to perform the following actions:

  • For interfaces marked as "LOCAL UP," the VCO should fetch the dpdk_ports_dump output from the Active Edge. This ensures that the status information reflects the current state of the local interface that is actively in use.
  • For interfaces marked as "USE_PEER," the VCO should fetch the dpdk_ports_dump output from the Standby Edge. This is to ensure that the status information accurately represents the interface that relies on the peer (or standby) device.

However, there is an issue in the current implementation. Instead of fetching the dpdk_ports_dump output from the Standby Edge for the "USE_PEER" interfaces, the VCO erroneously uses the dpdk_ports_dump output from the Active device for both "LOCAL UP" and "USE_PEER" interfaces. This incorrect behavior results in inaccurate status report on VCO remote diagnostic page.

Resolution

Bug# 89364 is fixed on latest version R452-20230628-GA.
