Give permissions ONLY to edit panels

Issue/Introduction

If you want a user ONLY to be allowed to edit panels in a model, he should be restricted to change any other object : entities, fields, action diagrams, etc in the model.

And only has to be entitled to change ALL the panels in a model but nothing else.

The following steps help setup the model configuration to achieve this: 

Environment

CA PLEX 7.21

Resolution

A user having only Panel object update permission - follow the steps below.

1)   Login into Group model with Admin.
2)   Create a User Group.

3)  Create a new user, and associate with above created User Group.

4)    Extract a new local model from above Group model.
5)    Create few UI functions in local model.
6)    Select the Panel object of the function created, and select Details property (Security Tab).

7)    As per the Owner, the associated group will be listed underneath permissions section.
8)    Update the Group model.
9)    Login into Group model with the user/group set as above, and extract the local model.

In extracted local model, the Panel objects having the aforementioned ownership/permission setup will allow the that specific user to update the Panel objects only.
