Remote System Monitoring (RSP) probe version 5.54 and above fail to connect RHEL 6.0 servers

Issue/Introduction

A Remote System Monitoring (Enhanced) profile was successfully deployed to a Group that includes RHEL 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 servers.

Monitoring works fine for all server versions except for RHEL 6.0

The following error is capture din the rsp.log

Connection failed for host X.X.X.X: kex error : no match for method server host key algo: server [ssh-rsa,ssh-dss], client [rsa-sha2-512,rsa-sha2-256,ssh-ed25519,ecdsa-sha2-nistp521,ecdsa-sha2-nistp384,ecdsa-sha2-nistp256,[email protected],[email protected]]

Environment

RSP version 5.54, 5.55, 5.56

Cause

SSH1 protocol has been deprecated

Resolution

Workaround to monitor RHEL 6 servers is to use RSP 5.53 since this is the latest version that supports SSH1
